Hardly Downing Street, ha
But 10 Satya Niketan was a major hub
Important things happened here among mates
Like jokes and smokes and plenty of nothing
To get lucky, guys sometimes brought their dates
Back in the day, it’s where we invented chilling

It wasn’t a fancy address
You had to reach through a back alley
Negotiate some cows and their dung
But you were typically pretty stoked
Because it was where you hung
And no one minded you were broke

The pad belonged to two bros
As alike as night and day
But both big, likeable studs
Pretty far from their parents’ home
Somehow, you felt related by blood
You were sort of in the zone

And it wasn’t just you
There were a bunch of other college-goers
Another matter that we didn't always go
Quickly got off our U-specials
Since on our minds there was a lot more
Like enjoying a movie and Maggi noodles

In the evenings too, we had enough going on
Swimming, squash or tennis even if you weren’t a DSOI member
And usually a nightly program – you couldn’t get bored
Taj Palace nearby, had live music by Seby
Though DK dhaba was what you could afford
So at the hotel, sixteen guys ordered one coffee

Note, we did pay for movie tickets and Nirula’s food
Yeah, there were a few favourite haunts but 10 was the epicentre
Though the younger stud also stayed out, he had friends all over and was hedonistic
And he could sing Rock-N-Roll and Country
Meanwhile, the older stud grew his beard and studied under a blanket
Both loved Elvis Presley

It’s been a while since then
Now we might live in big-ass apartments
But about those days, we have many stories
Sure, 10 SN was a hole-in-the-wall
Yet it helped in a way, to make history
Because man, we had a ball.

Haha lovely, reminds me of my mad Contract days when I lived with Aman Dhari Sinha and Cherian in Vasanth Kunj. :)
Rajat: Lovely trip down memory lane.
Was it the times then, bereft of SM, that permitted us to be us.
Or was it just us!
